What is Emmaus? St. Ann Family Center is home to Emmaus / Berkshire's Middle School Youth Group. This Youth Group is open to all students in Grades 5-7.
What is Matthew 5? St. Ann Family Center is home to the Matthew 5 Berkshire County Youth Group. This Youth Group is open to all students in Grades 8-12.
What is a Holy Hour for Youth? This is a time for students in Grades 5-12 to spend in prayer with the Blessed Sacrament exposed. Students have found this to be an experience of deep peace and quiet juxtaposing the noise of their lives.
When do you meet? We meet every Friday during the school year. We also go on about field trips for different Diocesan youth events or Berkshire County specific activities. For a complete schedule, please click on the calendar above. No commitment necessary! Show up for one event or every event.
Who needs to complete the Youth Waiver? Before any student participates in an Emmaus or Matthew 5 Event, they need to have their parent complete the waiver.
What is a Friday night Youth Group like? There are always three components: food, fellowship, and faith-sharing. This means we always enjoy a snack, play games, and learn about something faith-related. For example, we might have Mass, enjoy pizza, and then play cards.
Why Emmaus? We chose the name Emmaus for our Middle School Youth Group because it reminds us to be on the lookout for God in all areas of our life. It also reminds us of the importance of good friendships that draw out the best in us and bring us closer to Christ.
Why Matthew 5? Youth Group members chose the name Matthew 5 because in Chapter 5 of the Gospel of Matthew, the Lord teaches the Beatitudes ("Blessed are the..."). The students in this group decided that living out the Beatitudes should be the mission of our group. These same students designed the logo you see above.
